Rocks Suffer 6-4 Setback
|
The inspired effort of Plymouth second baseman Jed Price was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Pawnee ParksNRec. Price was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Todd Lee, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The save was credited to Alejandro Quintana, his 5th.
Gazmir Sapunxiu took Plymouth hurler Matt Jones deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the ParksNRec on top, 6-4. In all, Sapunxiu had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Sapunxiu, "and go after the next one."
The loss drops Plymouth to 4-10.
