Men Losers, 3-2, Versus Sunset District

Both teams had their chances, but the Sunset District Fog eventually prevailed.
Florida got a decent performance from pitcher John Bell, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sunset District Fog. Sunset District won the Fog Park contest, 3-2. Bell threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to 26-year old left-handed pitcher Marv Thomas in relief. His record improves to 1-0. John Bell took the loss.
Paul Hughes drove in one run for Sunset District. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Hughes had a clutch at-bat. Facing Florida hurler John Bell, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Fog a 3-2 lead.
"We busted our tails," said Florida manager Caetano Alfena. "But we came up short."
The win has Sunset District at 7-8.
