New Orleans starter John Mustard kept the Toronto offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Voodoo to a 3-0 win. The winner was Mustard. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tynan Hunter. Bob Douglas notched his 7th save of the season.

The Thunder had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Voodoo going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Jorge Valdés came to the plate. Valdés hit a bases-clearing double on a 0-1 fastball from Toronto hurler Tynan Hunter. It was Valdés's 4th double of the year.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said New Orleans skipper Chase Sims. "I can't complain."

The loss makes Toronto 17-12.
