Rainbow Mermaids Topple Grey Wolves, 5-2, as Joseph Shines
|
Rainbow Mermaids first baseman Mike Joseph left his imprint on his team's 5-2 win over the Vancouver Grey Wolves. Joseph hit 3 home runs for Northern Virginia in the contest. The winning pitcher was Jorge Souza. He tossed 100 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The Rainbow Mermaids, at 15-14, sit in 6th place in the Premier League.
Northern Virginia took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Carlos Rivera hit a 2-run single to make it 4-2, Rainbow Mermaids.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Joseph.
