Blitzkrieg Top Marlins in Extras, 4-1
|
Ft. Myers got a terrific performance from pitcher Andre Graham, but it wasn't enough to beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg. Port Huron won the League Park contest, 4-1. Graham threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Mark Peterson recorded the save for Port Huron, his 2nd of the season. The Marlins fall to 5-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2062 season.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman David Sterling came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Ft. Myers pitcher Marcus Lucas, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Port Huron on top, 3-1.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Sterling said.
