Tritons Keep Streak Alive With 5-2 Win
|
Jersey City second baseman Skip Lee contributed to his team's 5-2 win over the Salt Lake City Buzz. Lee, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA with a 1.112 OPS, went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tritons. Picking up the win was Homer Mathis. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 1. Jersey City, now 18-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
Early in the game, Lee had a 3-run home run for Jersey City. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Tritons on top, 3-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Jersey City skipper Darryl Gordon.
