The Plymouth Rocks topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-2, in M3L Triple A action at Plymouth Quarry. The game was highlighted by the performance of Plymouth pitcher Craig Lucas. The winner was Lucas. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Pancho Calderón. Earning his 5th save for Plymouth was Marvin Justice.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but Lucas was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Vermont trailing 3-1, Lucas retired Hedde Wierenga, who struck out.

The win brings the Rocks to 6-13, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
