Marlins Lose to Lynx in Walk-Off
|
Ft. Myers center fielder Jorge Rodríguez had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Calgary at Lynx Stadium. Rodríguez was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The win belonged to Wan-hua Ping in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Cliff Keir took the loss for Ft. Myers. The Lynx, now 15-5, have hit the ground running this season.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 5-5, 29-year old first baseman Miguel Zarate won it for Calgary. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Zarate hit a 1-0 fastball from Cliff Keir for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.
"I feel like we're rolling now," Zarate told the Calgary Gazette."The dugout is coming alive."
