Thunderbirds Need Extra Innings to Top Men, 4-1
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds faced a tough opponent in Florida pitcher John Bell, but found a way to pull out the victory at Psychos Ballpark by a final score of 4-1 in 10 innings. Bell went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Hamilton reliever Sam Malone snagged the win, upping his record to 3-2. Victor Brown shouldered the loss. The loss drops Florida to 13-7.
Hamilton used a clutch hit from Mike Hart to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
Hamilton manager Jesús Garces commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
