Hot Chickens Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Blitzkrieg
Nashville starter Keith Whalen put a stranglehold on the Port Huron offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Hot Chickens to a 5-1 win. Whalen, the winner, moves to 1-3. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Port Huron, at 6-14, is off to a poor start in 2054.

The Hot Chickens got a big at-bat from first baseman Arturo Medina, who in the bottom of the first hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Hot Chickens on top, 4-0.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Medina told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
