Vermont beat Plymouth on the strength of starting pitcher Luis Rosário's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. In 7.1 innings, Rosário surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Qu-bing Li, his 4th this season.
Vermont used the hitting of Juan Luis Acosta to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 3-0. For the game, Acosta had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll build on this win," said Acosta.
The Rocks, now 6-14, continue their sluggish start.
