Men Knock Off Black Mambas at Mamba Park
|
The Austin Black Mambas had to reckon with Florida Men hurler Christian Roberts. Roberts, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA in innings pitched with 36.0, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Men triumph. The winner was Roberts. He threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Mark Hodge. After today's action, Florida sits at 9-12; Austin slips to 14-7.
It could have been a different outcome for Florida, had it not been for Enrique Pérez, the 24-year old catcher . Pérez contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Florida up, 4-0.
Said losing manager Perry Bothof: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
