Red Pandas Upend Thunderbirds, 5-1
|
Hahn Hartwig imposed his will on the Thunderbirds from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-1 Sioux Falls triumph. The 11th-place Thunderbirds dropped to 7-14.
Sioux Falls used a clutch at-bat from Tim Robinson to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Red Pandas ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Hahn made some big pitches when he needed to," said Red Pandas manager Miguel Avilés.
