Thunderbirds Lose, 5-3, in 10

The Vermont Lake Monsters picked up a win at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, knocking off the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 5-3, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Walliyullah Brown played a key role in the triumph. The Lake Monsters improved their record to 14-8 by beating Hamilton.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Chris Adams to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Brown.
