Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Baton Rouge Brass and Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys.
The Baton Rouge Brass got a stellar effort from pitcher Fernando Fonseca, helping Baton Rouge score a win over the visiting Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 3-2. Syracuse, with the loss, is still a robust 5-2.
Joahan Urdiales had a big 2-run home run for the Brass in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Baton Rouge leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Cody Beasley and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Brass on top, 3-0.
"Fernando's as tough as he is talented," said Baton Rouge manager Luis Ruíz.
