Calgary Lynx starter Sidney Jones turned in a top-notch performance against the Hartford Pride at Lynx Stadium. The result was a win for the Lynx, 3-2. Jones picked up the win for Calgary, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Brenden Pilgrim earned the save, his 1st, for the Lynx.
With runs few and far between, the Lynx had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Calgary came in the bottom of the third inning, when 24-year old center fielder Ray Bradley delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Rudy Savage and made the score 3-0, Lynx. Bradley was 2-4 with a triple.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Jones. "But I have better dreams after a win."
Calgary goes to 17-7, Hartford to 14-10.
