The Plymouth Rocks, despite a fine performance by Salt Lake City pitcher Ernesto Valdéz, grabbed a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Plymouth Quarry. Valdéz allowed no runs over 6.1 innings. Marvin Justice claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-0. The Rocks sit in last place in the Menard's AAA with a record of 8-16.
In the bottom of the tenth, Dae-il Kil had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring single to center off Salt Lake City pitcher Felipe Hull.
"What a buzz," said Kil after it was over.
