Santa Barbara and Port Royal duked it out and the Golden Cranes came out victorious.
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Port Royal Disaster, 4-1. Santa Barbara pitcher and New York, native Dudley Malone led the way. Malone picked up the win for Santa Barbara, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Ronald Johnson recorded the save, his 3rd.
Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of Heng-zong Fen to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We won," Malone told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
With the win, Santa Barbara has a record of 14-10. Port Royal falls to 13-11.
