Hamilton starter Peyton Larson pitched well against the Pawnee ParksNRec at Whips Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. In 6 innings, Larson surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Mark Horton sewed up the save, his 1st.
Hamilton used a well-timed hit by Brad Reid to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Larson.
The second-place Thunderbirds have a record of 16-10.
