The Hamilton Thunderbirds defeated the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 8-5, at Port Huron Park. Hamilton was led by 27-year old right fielder Brad Reid, who was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The 10th-place Thunderbirds lifted their record to 11-15.
Hamilton used a well-timed hit by George White to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Reid.
