Shannon Miller added some punch to the Florida offense, helping them outmuscle the Port Royal Disaster, 10-7. In the game, Miller, who leads the 3AAA in RBI with 26, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. John Bell recorded the save for Florida, his 5th of the season. The victory gives Florida a record of 14-13.

The Men got an important contribution from third baseman Ted Oglethorpe, who in the bottom of the second hit a 1-0 sinker to center for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Men ahead, 4-1.

Men manager Caetano Alfena praised Miller after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"
