Men Keep Reeling Off Wins
Benefiting from Cristo González's productive game, the Florida Men downed the Vermont Lake Monsters, 11-3. González went 4-5 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Men. John Bell, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held the Lake Monsters to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Men, now 19-8, have won 12 in a row.

The Men got an important contribution from right fielder Ted Oglethorpe, who in the bottom of the third punched a full count fastball to left for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Men ahead, 5-1.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Florida manager Caetano Alfena.
