Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Thunderbirds
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Hamilton Thunderbirds and Ft. Myers Marlins.

The Hamilton Thunderbirds licked the Ft. Myers Marlins, 5-3. Brad Reid deserved a big chunk of the credit. The right fielder went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Thunderbirds. The winning pitcher was Edward Small. He tossed 106 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. Jesse Clark sewed up the save, his 8th.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Reid delivered big-time for Hamilton, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Silas Brown. The game-changing hit put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-3.

Hamilton manager Jesús Garces was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

With the victory, the Thunderbirds upped their record to 16-14.
