In the 4-1 Port Royal win over Port Huron, the impact of Francisco González was substantial. González, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA in hits with 36, was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Curley Martha got the save, the 4th for him this season. The Disaster improved to 15-15.
With Port Royal leading 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, González hit a 2-run single off Port Huron hurler Chris Morris. It was the 36th hit of the season for González and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Port Royal manager Miguel Aguilar.
