The Plymouth Rocks relied on a great performance from Jorge Valdéz, who is tied for 9th in the 3AAA in quality starts with 4, to beat the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 2-1, in 10 innings at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Plymouth reliever Marvin Justice snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jesse Clark shouldered the loss. After today's action, Plymouth sits at 14-19; Hamilton slips to 12-21.

The most important at-bat for Plymouth came in the top of the tenth inning, when left fielder Gus Miller stroked a 0-1 sinker to center for a run-scoring single, putting Plymouth up, 2-1.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Miller.
