Roach, Thunderbirds Get 3-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Hamilton Thunderbirds and the Salt Lake City Buzz, 29-year old left-handed pitcher Martin Roach proved to be the difference. The Hamilton left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Thunderbirds win. Mark Horton nailed down his 4th save. With the victory, the Thunderbirds upped their record to 19-15.
Roach was effective for Hamilton, seldom allowing the Buzz to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 108 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Salt Lake City to just 1 run on 5 hits.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Roach.
