|
The Plymouth Rocks weathered a fine game by Calgary right fielder Yoson Takahashi to upend the Lynx, 8-4, at Plymouth Quarry. Takahashi was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Álex Cruz went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA in strikeouts with 35, struck out 7 and walked 2. With the win, he's now 1-6 this season. The 9th-place Rocks now have a win-loss record of 15-19.
Plymouth went up, 5-3, on Wallace Martin's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Martin hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Calgary pitcher Rick Hartsfield muttering to himself.
"I like our mindset right now," said Plymouth manager Gerald Clark.
