Golden Cranes Resilient in 5-4 Win Over Port Huron
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg got a superb performance from pitcher Ed Pearce. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santa Barbara. The Golden Cranes won the game, 5-4. Pearce threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Santa Barbara, at 21-15, sits in third place in the Menard's AAA.
In the bottom of the tenth, Jeff Austin knew he could end it with one good swing of the bat. And he did, hitting a run-scoring double off Port Huron pitcher Claudio Aguilar.
"It was a test of wills," said William Smith, the Santa Barbara skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
