The first-place Norfolk Pajaritos took on the Nashville Hot Chickens in front of a spirited crowd.

Norfolk Pajaritos right-hander Sumiteru Uemura pitched a good game against the Nashville Hot Chickens at Norfolk Field, leading his team to victory, 6-2. Uemura, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AAA in wins with 5, went the distance for Norfolk. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits.

José Barrón had a big 3-run home run for the Pajaritos in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Norfolk trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Franklin Paige and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Pajaritos on top, 3-1.

Barrón attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
