The Plymouth Rocks picked up a win at Spirits Stadium, topping the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-3. On the mound for Plymouth was right-hander Jorge Valdéz. He played a principal role in the triumph. Valdéz got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Marvin Justice earned the save for Plymouth, his 8th of the year.

With one out in the top of the ninth, José Gamboa had a game-changing hit. The Rocks first baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Sib Gijbels, making the score 4-1, Plymouth.
