Farga Excels, But Pride Win
|
Vermont third baseman Pedro Farga was sensational. He went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Hartford beat the Lake Monsters, 5-4. Picking up his 5th save was 21-year old left-handed pitcher Larry Alexander. Hartford currently is in third place in the Menard's AAA at 25-17.
Tsuneyo Hirata drew 1 walk for Hartford. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Hirata had a clutch at-bat. Facing Vermont hurler David García, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Pride a 4-3 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hirata said.
