Lake Monsters Lose By a Run at Hamilton
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-2, in M3L Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The standout performance belonged to Hamilton pitcher and Allouez, Wisconsin, native Wilbert Irwin. Irwin, now 2-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs. The Thunderbirds go to 14-29 with the win.
Phil Tillman, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA in RBI with 35, helped out the Hamilton cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Vermont manager Alfonso Núñez, "let me know."
