Thunderbirds Lose Late, 7-4
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 7-4, in M3L Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The standout performance belonged to Vermont pitcher and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native Pancho Calderón. The 'W' lifts Vermont's record to 21-23.
Vermont used a timely hit from Chris Adams to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Said Hamilton manager Jesús Garces: "They did a lot of things right. We did a lot of things wrong."
