The Hartford Pride beat the Hialeah Dodos, 6-1. Hartford pitcher and Holyoke, Massachusetts, native Arch Stanton led the way. In 5.2 innings, Stanton surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Carlos Guzmán closed the door for Hartford, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Scott Wright cracked a home run off Ethan Henry in the top of the first. His 2-run blast put the Pride on top, 2-0. In all, Wright had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Wright said after the game.
Their 27-18 record puts the Pride second in the Menard's AAA.
