Buzz Take Down Disaster, 2-1
|
The Port Royal Disaster got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Moore. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Salt Lake City. The Buzz won the game, 2-1. Moore threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The setback makes Port Royal 17-28.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 1-1, 29-year old shortstop Ken Woods won it for Salt Lake City. With the bases loaded, Woods hit a 0-1 fastball from Sean Hamilton for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Woods said.
