Squirrel Monkeys Stick Disaster with 3-2 Loss
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 3-2, in M3L Triple A action at The Zoo in Syracuse. Syracuse pitcher Brian Hill had a standout performance. Hill, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was Dave Green, his 13th.

A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the fourth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the batter, William Martz, hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 2-1, Syracuse, and helped them go on to win.

"Enjoyed this one," Martz told the Syracuse Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The second-place Squirrel Monkeys lifted their record to 30-18.
