Hialeah left fielder Germán García made his presence felt in the 4-3 Dodos triumph over the Hamilton Thunderbirds. García was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Ric Nelson picked up the win. His record improves to 3-3. Mark Wilson took the loss. Carl van Bekenes earned the save for Hialeah.
Jeff Huffman drove in one run against the Thunderbirds. With the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Hialeah in front, 4-3.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Hialeah skipper Albert Pérez. "I can't complain."
The Dodos have now won 5 straight.
