Sunset District Beats Port Royal, 3-2
|
The Sunset District Fog eked out a 3-2 win versus the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Port Royal. Nobody did more than pitcher Stephen Jones. He was terrific. Jones picked up the win for Sunset District, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5. Teddy Harvey closed it out for Sunset District, earning his 12th save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Fog had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when third baseman Luis Hernández hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Alvin Buchanan and made the score 3-2, Fog. Hernández went 2-4 with 2 singles.
Sunset District manager Brady Bess praised his team's "businesslike approach."
The 5th-place Fog now have a win-loss record of 26-25.
