Golden Cranes Best Lake Monsters, 4-1
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-1, at Crane Field. Starting pitcher Brad Duncan was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Vermont has now lost 4 straight.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the sixth. But Brad Duncan made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Vermont trailing 3-1, Duncan threw a splitter to Luis Martínez and Martínez hit into a double play.
