The 7-6 Salt Lake City win over Vermont was due largely to Sumitomo Shimizu. The Buzz pinch hitter was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brad Bray picked up the win in relief. Nicholas Reyes took the loss for Vermont. The Buzz are now 25-28, while the Lake Monsters fall to 25-28.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Salt Lake City trailing 6-5, Dave Pace hit a sinker from Nicholas Reyes to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Buzz had a walk-off win.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Pace.
