Squirrel Monkeys Win at Home, 4-1

The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys took on the Ft. Myers Marlins at The Zoo in Syracuse.
Eddy Boyd, who is tied for 9th in the 3AAA with a 8.3 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Ft. Myers Marlins. His performance earned Boyd rave reviews. Boyd yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-2.
Daniel Pollock took Ft. Myers hurler Jorge Ortíz deep in the bottom of the second. His 3-run home run put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 3-1. In all, Pollock had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Boyd.
The 10th-place Marlins now sit at 23-34.
