|
Ft. Myers pitcher Alfredo Contreras did his part in helping his team beat the Port Royal Disaster, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Michael Ross recorded the save for Ft. Myers, his 1st of the season. Ft. Myers is 10th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 25-33.
Keith Thomas's at-bat in the top of the sixth was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 2-2. The Ft. Myers center fielder hit a 2-run single off Edward Brown to put the Marlins up.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Thomas.
