Men Cut Down Dodos, 5-3
|
Led by Luis Luttazi, the Florida Men defeated the Hialeah Dodos, 5-3. Luttazi went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Men. The winning pitcher was Júlio Ramírez. He tossed 110 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. Florida, at 34-25, occupies third place in the Menard's AAA.
With Florida leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Luttazi came up to bat against Hialeah pitcher Tim Moore. Luttazi hit a knuckle curve to right for a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season put the Men on top, 4-0.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Luttazi.
