Hamilton had no answer for 24-year old right-handed pitcher Alvin Buchanan. The Port Royal Disaster starter stymied Thunderbirds hitters, helping the Disaster cruise to victory, 7-0. In 6 innings, Buchanan surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Bobby Vaughn closed it out for Port Royal, earning his 1st save.
Regardless of the outcome, those who came to Ballpark of Port Royal for the M3L Triple A contest enjoyed being there.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Buchanan told the Port Royal Daily News.
Port Royal, now 24-36, holds down 11th place in the Menard's AAA.
