The Hialeah Dodos downed the Sunset District Fog, 4-0, at Fog Park. Stellar pitching by Shawn Walker had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA in saves with 6, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Walker. He threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Stephen Jones. The save went to Damon Colcott, his 4th this season.
Hialeah relied on the hitting of Jim Willis to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put the Dodos on top, 2-0. For the game, Willis had 1 triple and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
Walker said his team "played with determination."
Hialeah is now 27-34.
