Rocks Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Plymouth Rocks faced a tough opponent in Ft. Myers pitcher Eugene Barber, but still scratched out a win at Plymouth Quarry by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Barber went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Robert Poynter in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Juan González took the loss. The Rocks are now 33-30, while the Marlins fall to 29-34.
The Rocks got a clutch hit from center fielder Onye Paulino. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rocks.
Paulino described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
