The Hamilton Thunderbirds stopped the Plymouth Rocks, 7-4, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The Thunderbirds got a big game from John Nelson, who went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Bailey Marshall picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-3. He struck out 6 in 5.2 innings. The Thunderbirds go to 24-40 with the win.

Nelson contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Hamilton in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Nelson took a changeup from Ron Harris and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Thunderbirds to leap in front, 2-1.

In postgame comments to the Hamilton Observer, Nelson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
