Marlins Rally Late to Clip Hudson Bay
|
The Ft. Myers Marlins earned a close win over the Hudson Bay Redwoods, thanks in part to Thad Willis. The Ft. Myers left-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Ft. Myers pitcher Andrew Thomas earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. David García suffered the loss. Dallas Bullard earned the save for Ft. Myers, his 4th of the year.
Ft. Myers took a 3-1 lead on Jesús Longoria's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Longoria hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hudson Bay pitcher David García visibly frustrated.
"We took home the win," said Willis. "What's not to like?"
With the victory, the Marlins upped their record to 34-30.
