Disaster Defeated, 7-4, After Port Huron Rallies
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 7-4, at Port Huron Park. Port Huron was led by 27-year old catcher Gonzalo Peña, who went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Port Huron, at 28-37, occupies 10th place in the Menard's AAA.
Peña had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Vince Barnard, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Blitzkrieg a 7-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Peña.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Port Royal manager Miguel Aguilar. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
