In a low-scoring contest, Port Royal pitcher Vince Barnard was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. The winner was Barnard. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Tim Moore. Port Royal is 10th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 30-39.
The Disaster got a big hit from second baseman Arnold Crane. In the bottom of the sixth, Crane smacked a 2-run double off Hialeah pitcher Tim Moore. It was his 7th double of the season. Suddenly, the Disaster were ahead, 2-1.
"I was a little disappointed," said Hialeah manager Albert Pérez. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
