Rocks Knock Off Disaster, 5-1
|
Plymouth starter Pedro Soto put a stranglehold on the Port Royal offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Rocks to a 5-1 win. Plymouth raised its record to 37-35 with the win.
Plymouth went in front, 5-1, on Yoshihito Takeuchi's 12th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Takeuchi hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Port Royal pitcher Curley Martha visibly perturbed.
"When I go out there," said Soto, "the last thing I want to do is let my teammates down."
