The Monongahela Monsters took on the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field.

The Monongahela Monsters pinned a convincing loss on the Vermont Lake Monsters, 9-2, at Monster Field. Dylan Bettinson was a main factor in the win. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Monongahela. Oliver Haddow went 6.1 innings for Monongahela to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record improves to 1-0.

Ricardo Álvarez had a big run-scoring triple for the Monsters in the top of the third inning. With Monongahela leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Benny Thompson and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monsters ahead, 3-0.
