Fighting Dachshunds Beat Redlegs, 7-5
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds defeated the Sacramento Redlegs, 7-5, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Ellenburg was led by 25-year old first baseman Lou Pennington, who was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Ellenburg pitcher Mal Edwards got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Brian McDaniel got the loss. With the win, the Fighting Dachshunds improved to 12-10.
Pennington had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth to put Ellenburg in front, 3-1. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Sacramento pitcher Brian McDaniel.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Pennington told the Ellenburg Daily News. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
