Marlins Stick Disaster with 5-3 Loss
The Ft. Myers Marlins spoiled a good performance by Port Royal first baseman Greg Hilton, bumping off Port Royal, 5-3, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Hilton was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Logan Bowen earned the win for Ft. Myers. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 12 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 6-3. Getting the save was Fernando López, his 14th.

Ft. Myers used a clutch at-bat from Sean Robinson to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Marlins ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I thought we competed really well," said Marlins manager Ken McDowell. "I thought the energy was really good."

The Marlins now have a record of 37-40 with the win over Port Royal.
